Lucie Jones has confirmed that she will appear in an upcoming episode of The Sarah Jane Adventures.
The former X Factor contestant told Metro that she would have a small role in the CBBC Doctor Who spinoff.
Jones said: “It’s a tiny cameo but apparently it’s quite funny.”
It was recently announced that new Doctor Who lead Matt Smith would appear in Sarah Jane, while the series will also feature Katy Manning, Laila Rouass Rouass, Cheryl Campbell and Harry Potter‘s David Bradley.
Doctor Who star Matt Smith is to play a gay writer in a new BBC2 TV show.
Smith, 27, who is currently starring in his first season as the famous Doctor, is to take on the role of Christopher Isherwood in a movie following his early life.
Isherwood wrote the novel A Single Man in 1964, which was recently turned into a movie by fashion designer Tom Ford and starred Colin Firth, Julianne Moore and Nicholas Hoult.
The new show will be called Christopher And His Kind and will detail how Isherwood left England behind to live in Berlin.
A source told UK newspaper The Sun: ‘This is a world away from what Matt’s fans will expect. He’s really excited and can’t wait to get stuck in.’
The stories told in The Adventure Games are canon, and are regarded by the showrunners as additional episodes in the current season. Phil Ford, who previously wrote ‘The Waters Of Mars’, explains the process: “It was very much like writing a script for a TV show. The whole idea, that everyone wanted to do from the very start, should feel like episodes that you would sit down and watch on TV.” As such, each episode is structured in such a way that the story builds up to a peak and a natural conclusion. Stephen Moffat also advised the team to open each episode with a pre-title scene of the impending threats to come, thus drawing the player in, much like the show itself.

Thousands of Doctor Who fans have contacted the BBC to complain that the ending of Saturday night’s episode was ruined by a trailer for the next show.
The on-screen caption featured an animated cartoon of presenter Graham Norton, host of Over the Rainbow.
It appeared as The Doctor, played by Matt Smith, was making an emotional speech during the story’s cliffhanger ending for The Time of Angels.
The trailer was seen by millions of viewers watching on BBC One in England.
Fans have also been complaining on social networking site Twitter. One wrote: “Why is the BBC treating its audience like idiots?”
Another said: “Don’t blink or Graham Norton will catch you.”
The BBC often promotes programmes in this way but the corporation has acknowledged that in this case the scheduling was inappropriate.
A BBC spokesman said: “We apologise for the timing of Saturday night’s trail.”
It is not the first time an unexpected appearance by Norton has angered Doctor Who fans.
When the series returned in 2005 after a 16-year break, a technical error caused Norton’s voice to be briefly heard over the episodes opening scenes.
What an amazing (and frightening) episode! Can’t wait to see the second part next week
In the gallery there are now almost 2,000 screencaptures from the episode as well as nearly 1,500 screencaptures from the corresponding Confidential. There are also some episode stills.
The preview for the second half of the story, Flesh and Stone, is available for viewing either here or below.
Enjoy!

The new Doctor Who and his assistant will be taking the Tardis to London this summer – to host two concerts as part of the BBC Proms.
Matt Smith, who plays the Time Lord, and Karen Gillan, who plays his assistant Amy Pond, will introduce the BBC National Orchestra of Wales performances at the world’s largest classical music festival at the Royal Albert Hall.
The Cardiff-based orchestra will perform five proms, including the two Doctor Who Proms.
The musicians already perform and record the soundtracks for the BBC Wales series and Doctor Who spin-off Torchwood, and they will be recreating live the music that has been the backdrop to the Time Lord’s travels on television.
The Doctor Who proms, which will feature the voices of London Philharmonic Choir, will be performed on July 24 and 25 and the first concert will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 at 7.30pm.
The first Doctor Who Prom took place in the 2008 Proms Season and proved to be one of the hottest tickets that season.
Now with Smith and Gillan as hosts, the orchestra is expecting similar success this year.
David Murray, the orchestra’s director, said: “We have a very strong line up of concerts at this year’s BBC Proms and we are delighted to be performing the Doctor Who Proms as part of this.
“We already record the music for the BBC Wales series and to perform this live at the Royal Albert Hall will be a thrill for all the players involved, as well as something special for the audience.”
The orchestra will also perform concerts at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the BBC Proms season on July 22 and 26.
The musicians will complete their BBC Proms performances during Proms in the Park at Singleton Park in Swansea in September, when the season culminates with the famous Last Night of the Proms event.
Other BBC Proms highlights this year include Wagner’s The Mastersingers of Nuremberg, with Bryn Terfel as Hans Sachs, the role he will debut a month earlier with Welsh National Opera.
Karen Gillan has promised fans “surprises” in upcoming episodes of Doctor Who.
The actress brushed off the suggestion that there was a ‘romantic tension’ between Matt Smith’s Doctor and her character Amy Pond which had been ‘done before’.
Gillan said: “There’s a really interesting dynamic between them. There are many levels to it. She won’t be following him around like a lovesick puppy. There are some surprises ahead.”
When asked how she felt about being called The Doctor’s sexiest ever companion, she added: “Very weird, but I’m flattered.
“Doctor Who has a long line of sexy companions, it’s nothing new. I don’t particularly aspire to be sexy, I just want to play the part well.”
Gillan confirmed that she was not a fan of the show before winning the role of Amy and explained: “My mom’s a fan but I wasn’t. When I was younger I watched Star Trek: Voyager but Doctor Who passed me by. My introduction was getting a part in it.”
Fox has decided not to pursue a U.S. version of the UK cult hit. The network was developing a stateside version of the “Doctor Who” spinoff, a prospect which divided fans.
“BBC Worldwide Productions and the FOX Broadcasting Company have mutually agreed not to progress together with a 13-episode serialized ‘Torchwood’ format,” said BBC Worldwide in a statement. “We are currently in discussion with several interested networks.”
As to that last part, BBC Worldwide executive vp of programming and production Jane Tranter reiterated that a U.S. version was still making progress.
“It’s very much ongoing and very much alive,” Tranter said.
Also, fans shouldn’t hope for/worry about a U.S. edition “Doctor Who,” whose recent season premiere just set a ratings record on BBC America.
“It may well be confusing to have a British Doctor and an American Doctor at the same time,” she said. “There is only one Doctor, so I don’t see that happening.”
Doctor Who star Karen Gillan is keeping quiet about a possible romance between her character Amy Pond and the famous Time Lord, according to reports.
Gillan, 22, recently appeared in the cult BBC sci-fi show for the first time when it aired on UK TV over Easter, alongside actor Matt Smith, who also made his debut as the famous Doctor.
Asked if their characters will ever be anything more than just friends, the Scots actress said: ‘Well, I can’t say whether there’ll be romance or not, but that would never be the main reason the Doctor and Amy are together.
‘Ultimately, they’re both adventurers and lost souls who find each other.’
Gillan added that she is glad she and Smith, 27, both made their debut in the show at the same time.
She said to UK magazine Closer: ‘I feel really lucky to be going through this with someone else. We’ve got a great bond now, we’re good friends.’
